Message from the Principal

Principal Wong Wan Chu

I am thankful for the guidance of our Heavenly Father and the trust and blessings of the School Management Board, giving me the opportunity to serve with ELCHK Lutheran School. I am also thankful for the dedicated joint efforts of all our teaching and non-teaching staff in leading our students along the multiple paths to growth and learning.
It is a mission of an educator to help children grow both in character and knowledge happily and healthily. Our teaching team is committed to providing a rich language environment and all-round curricula that help our children grow up happily, to be equipped with bi-literacy and tri-lingual skills of our common languages, and to develop multi-dimensional intelligence. They design learning experiences that help reach for higher levels of thinking and competence in their spoken and written language skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills that can help them move forward with time and reflecting the mission and vision of the School. They strive to empower our students to love learning, to be reliable and responsible, to be creative, to achieve their personal best, and to have steadfast faith in doing right things, and a hopeful and caring heart, that always put into practice our School Motto Faith, Hope, Love.
This year, we have been integrating the principles outlined in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey into our daily lives. These habits are: Be proactive; Begin with the end in mind; Put first things first; Think win-win; Seek first to understand, then to be understood; Synergize; and Sharpen the Saw. Our students are in the golden years to be taught and trained to form good habits and develop noble characters. We trust that these seven habits will help them gain a good understanding of the core rules for life, such as taking up responsibility bravely, making plans, fulfilling given tasks and cooperating with others. Moreover, we are also incorporating the fiuit of the Spirit love, joy peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control - into our virtue nurturing, life education and religious studies.
