Principal SO PING FAI

Principal So holds a teaching certificate, a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Master of Science in Electronic Computing from City University of Hong Kong. He has been engaged in primary education for over thirty years. Having served as a primary school principal for many years, he has been dedicated to promoting quality foundational education and is eager to share his insights with the industry.

Over the years, he has served as a part-time lecturer for the Education Bureau, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University in programs for aspiring principals, new principal training courses, and training courses for school middle management personnel. He has also been a reviewer for the Professional Development Resource Book for Aspiring Principals and an Honorary School Development Officer for The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Quality School Development Program, primarily focusing on promoting professional development for teachers and principals.

Principal So has previously held positions as the Chair and Consultant of the Subsidized Primary Schools Council, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Asia-Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change Research at The Education University of Hong Kong, and a member of the Consultation Committee for the School IT Innovation Laboratory Program, as well as a reviewer for the "In-Service Teachers’ Paid Overseas Study Program." He has also been a member of the Education Coordinating Committee and the Task Force on Teacher Professional Development of the Education Bureau, contributing suggestions on enhancing and promoting teacher professional development, establishing feasible plans for a professional ladder for teachers, and arranging the rank structure for management in primary, secondary, and special schools, as well as the timeline for the degree-based positions for teachers. In 2020, he was awarded the "Medal of Honor" by the HKSAR Government in recognition of his contributions to education.
